Submitting Albums to Apollo Audio

Apollo Audio encourages you to submit your music to Apollo Audio for consideration. Please do not send mp3s via email, we will delete them. We will be happy to visit your website and / or myspace, etc, for samples. We're very selective in what we post to our website -- we consider this a "unique boutique," - so please do not feel that if we do not select you it's personal.

Apollo Audio has a great understanding about music, we have been performing, selling and recording for over a decade now. Please note the following conditions when submitting your material for consideration. Most of this is Band 101 anyway, so if you're not already taking steps to meet our standards, we'll bet that more than likely any record labels, producers, booking agents or publicity agents are not going to give you a second listen either. We're easy, they're not.

  • Album quality, no demo tapes. It's hard enough these days to conince people to actually purchase music, and we do our best to provide our audience with albums that have the production quality our audience will appreciate, and will want to spend their hard-earned money to purchase. That does NOT mean an album recorded on a 4-track will not be accepted (we LOVE Guided by Voices), great songs can be recorded in any format -- but we are musicians, and we can separate quality from just sitting around stoned and noodling on your guitar and / or Moog Polysynth. If all you have at this point are demos, thats fine, we're still interested in listening. It never hurts to know you'll have a destination to release your tunes once you've finished the recording process.

  • Make sure you have a good description or history available about your band. We want to know who you are, where you come from, and any history about your group. Everyone has a story, and people love reading stories. If selected, you're going to need a bio for the player anyway (we won't post your album without one), so if you dont have one, its best to start working on one as soon as possible.

  • You should have album art. No explanation necessary, we hope.

  • Let us know that you are performing live. If you're not working with a booking agent, we can completely understand (from years of experience) that booking a tour on your own is very painful, difficult and time consuming. However, it comforts us to see that you are serious about your craft, and we need to see that you are making the effort and performing your music live, which is going to ultimately help with sales of your album and traffic to the website. It's what this musician thing is all about anyway, right?

  • Band photo, band photo band photo. You're not going to get anywhere without a band photo. Did we say band photo?

So if you're serious about your music, we want to hear it, we want to help, and we're open to music of all kinds.
